Agentic workflows, in practice
A conversation on where autonomy actually pays off, and where a human checkpoint is worth every second it costs.
An agent is not a chatbot. A chatbot answers; an agent acts — calling tools, retrieving data and completing multi-step tasks inside guardrails.
The design work is mostly in the guardrails: which steps run unattended, which pause for review, and how a person recovers when a step goes wrong.
Our rule of thumb: automate the gathering and drafting, keep humans on the judgement and the irreversible actions.
